What to Expect at Your First Ski Lesson
AT SNÖBAHN
Never skied before? Not sure what walking through the door actually looks like? You’re not alone — and that’s exactly why we’re breaking it down.
Here’s everything that happens at your first ski lesson at SNÖBAHN, step by step. No guesswork, no surprises. Show up and we’ll take it from there.
Checking In
When you first walk in, head to the front desk. You’ll check in here and fill out your waiver if you haven’t already done it online. Fill it out before you show up and you’ll be on the slope that much faster.
Getting Booted Up at Ski Valet
From the front desk, you’ll walk over to ski valet. Take a seat on one of the benches, slip your shoes off, and the team will fit you for ski boots and skis. Everything is included — you don’t need to bring a thing.
Boot sizes run from three-year-olds all the way up to adults, so everyone in the family is covered. Bindings are fully adjustable, so you’ll always get a ski fitted to the right size.
Helmet Fitting
Safety first! Before you get on the slope, you’ll put on your helmet. Helmets are mandatory at SNÖBAHN. The team will make sure you’re fitted properly before you head over.
Hitting the Slope
The fun begins! SNÖBAHN has three revolving slopes that pitch up to 20 degrees and can run up to 25mph. For your first lesson, your instructor will start the slope on the slowest setting and build from there — everything is controlled by a remote they hold the entire time.
When you first hop on, there’s a bar at the front of the slopes to hold onto while you’re getting comfortable with how the slope moves. As your confidence builds, your instructor adjusts the speed using the remote. And they always have their hand on the stop button… safety is the number one priority, and the slope can be stopped instantly if needed.
The front of the slope has a mirror so you can watch yourself ski and refine your technique in real time. The other side is a window — so if you brought someone with you, they can watch through the window or the one-way mirror while you’re on the slope.

Why This Is Better Than Learning on the Mountain
On a mountain, you might get 10 runs in a full day between the chairlift, the crowds, and the traverse back to the lift. At SNÖBAHN the slope never stops, which means your reps never stop either. Your instructor is right there adjusting the speed and pitch in real time, giving you feedback every single run instead of every 45 minutes.
More reps. Better feedback. Faster progression.
