SKATE RAMP DETAILS
Three height sections allow the mini ramp to be fun for advanced skaters and open to teaching beginners. With heights of 2′, 3.5′, and 5′, you can keep progressing in the same area. Skaters must be certified by an instructor to use the mini ramp. Certification involves being able to pump on the ramp and maintain speed. Skateboarders must take intro if they cannot pass instructor certification.
Gear: Skateboards are available to rent but are included with all lesson registration. Protective equipment including helmets and pads are free to use.
SKATEBOARDING FUNDAMENTALS LESSON
This program is designed for individuals new to skateboarding, aiming to acquire essential skills for a safe and progressive journey in the sport. While significant improvement is expected during the one-hour fundamentals class, mastery of learned skills requires consistent practice outside of class. The lessons are structured to cover a range of topics, and participants are encouraged to take the introductory class more than once. Instructors will make personalized adjustments to cater to each individual’s learning needs. The Skateboarding Fundamentals curriculum includes an introduction to equipment, foot positioning, basic stance/balance, pushing, riding, turning, tic-tac maneuvers, safety tips, and riding fakie.
INTRO TO MINI RAMP
For those who have mastered fundamentals and are ready for mini ramp skateboarding, proficiency in pushing, riding, and basic turns is essential. Students, at a minimum, should be comfortable adjusting trajectory with toe/heel turns. Instructor assistance is available at this level, and all lessons are one hour. Participants can retake the intro class if needed, and the instructor will tailor the session to individual needs. The curriculum covers acclimating to the ramp, pumping, and dropping in.
